What is the Big Scramble?
Adventurous Concepts (AC) will once again host The Big Scramble, an urban race for a cause, to benefit the Alzheimer's Association. We raised over $20k in donations and matching funds for the not-for-profit during our first two races. This year our goal is $15k and we are committed to do something to help find a cure for Alzheimer's - are you in?
The Mission
Your mission is to get yourself to participate in an event in the spirit of the amazing race through South Beach. Teams can consist of two, three, or four people and if you're in the family division, you can race as a four, six, or eight person team. So grab friends, daughters, sons, parents, siblings, coworkers, or get the boss on board as a team-building exercise. Athletes and non-athletes are welcome- anyone can do it! All that is required is a positive outlook to have a great time.
How it Works
You design your race route and process based on event rules. The team to most quickly figure out the clues, arrive at the designated locations, complete required tasks, and, finally, cross the finish line wins. Legitimate point-to-point transportation includes walking, running, strolling, and certain fare-based bus transportation. Other modes of transportation are not allowed unless specified in the instructions.
The course is designed to take between 2 to 4 hours to complete, depending on how slowly or quickly you traverse your race. At race start, each team will be given a list of approximately 10 to 15 clues, which represent specific locations. There may be additional tasks to perform once you reach the designated location.
Costumes and other team embellishments are encouraged!
This year we have added a family category as well as provide team's an opportunity to raise money for the Alzheimer's Association. Visit
Team Fundraising Info and Toolkit Page for more information.
Note: Minimum age for participation is 12 years old, however those under 16 must be accompanied on their team by an adult.
Remember, in addition to the challenge, fun and competition, you are doing good: ALL proceeds will be donated to the Alzheimer's Association.
